Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Boot box sizes? Need to get postage quotes

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, sorry not sure if this is the right forum to post this on?

I'm going to buy some boots from a retailer at the other end of the country. I am going to order 2 different sized boots to see which is the best fit.

Obviously I will then need to return one pair at my expense.

I am trying to work out the post costs of doing this. I know the boots weigh approx 4.2kg, but I also need to know box dimensions. Does anyone have a box to hand and can give me the dimensions of a roughly UK size 8 box. I should then at least be able to work out a ball park figure for the return postage.

Thanks

Duncan

I've also used Hermes. No need to know the size - just the weight.

@FunkyDunc, for safe go 50x40x20 5kg if you want them to get there would probably use interparcel economy (UPS) cost a few pence more or if using hermes make sure it is the signature required one...once lost a £500 pair of race boots going to the highlands....turned out they had been left outside the door of the person due to get them who (because they were delayed by 2 days) had gone away for a week on business.... Hermes adamant they had been left in a porch (there was no porch) thankfully a neighbour saw them knew the recipient was away and took them in but then neighbour was away for a couple of days etc etc caused all sorts of problems but were found in the end

Cheers for all the advice, I ordered 1 set of boots, but they were too small, so ordered a 2nd. First set to go back now. Will be sending them back fully insured.
