Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

SCGB Suspends Rapping Service in France

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
In a move to get in touch with the yoof market the Ski Chanteurs of Great Britain (SCGB) set up a rapping service in French ski resorts in 2012. In fact this was nothing more than a rebake of the old hip-hop service they'd launched in 2001 but shut in 2004 after people turned up singing songs from Peter Andre, McFly and Busted. SCGB was worried it would be liable to Performing Rights Ltd.

Now the ill stared Rapping service has had to be suspended after lead singers angered French rappers Eko Lsa, Sinik and Féfé who go under the collective name of E.S.F. The French claim that SCGB rappers are working for money as they frequently pass a hat around after performances. They say they present a potential security risk to people turning up to singing sessions on the slopes as they don't have the famous Test de capacité vocale. This controversial test requires competitors to rap Nique Ta Mère's "Pose ton gun" within 18% of the time of the opening singer. The SCGB says the test is unfair as the song largely contains French lyrics and the English words are in modern street slang. The SCGB has suggested a medieval Gregorian Chant to be a more suitable and neutral test and in any event it should not be judged on speed. French authorities contend that the song was chosen in agreement with BASI (British Association of Singing Instructors) due to the large amount of English used.

Reports suggest that the Rapping service was not well attended as the average age of SCGB is 63. Members are said to prefer Vera Lynn, and can often be heard on the slopes asking if people have "got any Veras?". Presumably a reference to 78 gramaphone records.

 You know it makes sense.

Big controversy over Ski Chanteurs chat line on whether or not the Rappers have to stick to 100% to the words of any rap or whether they can go a bit "off piste" as it were. According to lead singer guidelines they can deviate from the known lyrics so long as they keep in sight of the original tune. There is also some debate as to if they are true volunteers as they apparently sign over all their performing rights in exchange for accomodation, a baseball cap and yellow/blue shell suit marked "SCGB Homey, innit". They also have a pass for the VIP lounge of the local resort night club.

I'm pretty sure I read that it was helmets, not baseball caps. And that it was a conspiracy involving sponsorship or James Bond, or insurance premiums, or peer pressure, or the media, or something. There's a group photo of some of GB's most elite young ski club performance reps somewhere in another thread.
