I'm sure the proud flangesax's will be along soon but I'm jumping in to publicly congratulate Mabel on her awesome podium third place today at Zauchensee and fourth place overall in her class this season.
Her trophy was presented by the legend that is Michael Walchhofer no less.

So.... a few races and many training sessions later...
I'm a little bit more clued up on how it all works now too...
The local 'Sportwelt' Cup finished today.
This is a league between the local ski schools for U8 to U11's (4 groups).
They have 4 races spread across the season of different disciplines.
Places are given points from 1st to 10th (25, 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1)
These are then put together to form a league.
The top scores from 3 of the 4 races create the league total.
Every point scored by every individual ski club member also go together to form the ski club league.
Mabel's U8 catagory has 16 racers.
The races were held in Eben (which was the slalom that I mentioned earlier). Mabel scraped a 4th.
Forstau which was Combi (RSL/GS gates and a couple of burms and jumps). Mabel placed 7th
Filzmoos RSL. Mabel placed 8th.
Zauchensee RSL. Mabel placed 3rd. A well deserved podium even if I do say so myself!!
She placed 4th in the league too!
The ceremony was down today with Michael Walchhofer dishing out the silver!
Mabel has also competed in the county meet.
This was a combi and was very tricky.
Unfortunately she was DIS for this one (but her trainer and me don't know why!)
Her time was about middle of the order, which we were pleased with.
An open RSL in Forstau where she placed 4th (from a grand total of 5!)
Pongau Schools RSL where she placed 17th of 34.
There are 2 more races for the season. The town championship being one of them!
Anyhow... Mabel has been getting better and really worked hard for her 3rd place today after a couple of poorly weeks.
