I am thinking of a day skiing beginning of November as I will be out for a few days. I cannot find any info on the opening times of the lifts in Tignes eg funicular and Grande Motte which I am guessing is the extent of the lifts at the moment? Can anyone advise please or point me to where I can find this info? Thanks

The first couple of funicular departures can be a bit of a zoo with all the race clubs on it, and you need to be joining the queue shortly after 8am to make sure you're close enough to the front to get on the first train. After 9am or so it's much more civilised.

A lot of the race clubs start to pack away around 12-1pm, so that means the last couple of hours of the day are quieter with fewer lift queues, so better to ski later rather than earlier.

rob@rar, This, from my race training days, it was horrible!! Idiot racers or all nationalities with no manners, pushing and being morons!! Just go a little later on and enjoy the quiet ride up! Even getting there before them and being at the front of the queue means youll just have a little prick with sticks (or 50 of them) up your back bottom pushing!

PaulC1984, Tignes isn't too bad, it doesn't have nearly as many Italians as L2A.
