Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Plagnes Villages to Plagnes Centre ski school meeting point

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

Does anyone have any advice getting from accommodation in Plagnes Villages to ski school in Plagnes Centre? I'm looking at Oxygene ski school for the kids and the lessons start at 10am - plenty of time I reckon to get the bus or telebus lift. But is it practical to do?

I've never been to La Plagne so have no concept how near or far everything is. I know ESF meet in Plagne Villages but I've got a preference not to go with them as (and I know it's pot luck) they will probably have more French children than English. Next post coming up - can anyone recommend an English ski school in La Plagne?)

TIA

Oxygene run a shuttle bus around the villages. With kids this is the best bet for the first couple of days at least.... http://oxygene-ski.com/en/la-plagne/

Hi ya,
If you are skiing with Oxygene they do a free pick up service. Also depending on your kids skiing level you can ski down a blue run to the Oxygene meeting point in Plagne centre.

Feel free to drop me an email at Lime snowsports http://limesnowsports.com/ if you are looking for a British ski school.

have a great holiday - La Plagne is a brilliant resort!

Plagne Village to Plagne Centre is nice and easy.

If you can ski a blue run you can ski down and take one short lift back up which lands you in Plagne Centre, just above the ski school meeting points.

If you can't ski a blue run you can take a pedestrian lift down to Plagne Centre and then it's just a couple of minutes walk to the meeting point.

There are three ski schools in Plagne Centre - Lime (message Dani above); Reflex and Oxygene. All three offer good quality tuition in a more modern style than the ESF and all three attract a good proportion of English clients.

Hope you find something which suits . . .

Thanks for all replies and advice, esp. Lime ski school (unfortunately their lessons for the week I am interested in would be staggered, but Dani was most helpful, even recommending Oxygene, who I have booked with).

What a great site.
