Poster: A snowHead

So ive been toying with the idea of buying my own skis, going on a couple of ski holidays this winter so finincially i can kind of justify it.
I skied my first black run with some reasonable success this year in les deux alps and hoping for some more of the same in Val thorens this winter.
im 6ft 5 and 105kg i would really like to do a freeride course to taste a little off piste this year as well, do you think these would be upto the job:

Many thanks in advance

No, not long enough,stiff enough.
190+ , 90-102 wide.

are ski's at 190 in length quite uncommon, looking online most of the range seem to be aroun 185 max, or is it just all the new kit has not arrived yet?

reeksi, if you're just doing a week;s course, maybe hire a specialist ski when you know what conditions are like and can get local advice. Skis which would be right for that might not be right for your second black run - or other tough pisted slopes especially in icy conditions.

So it looks to me like they have a rental binding so it's a sensible deduction to say they are Ex- Rental rather than used which is a massive difference:
Used skis - Private owner, average usage 7-14 days per season
Ex Rental - Out 75% days of the season (roughly 22 days per month for 4 months of the season requiring servicing, edging etc - 90 days approx
That makes ex rental a whole lot older than used.
£180 for skis that have been used all season, with heavy ex rental or demo bindings sounds quite a lot of cash - Caveat Emptor baby!!

^^^^ +1
As a minimum I would contact the seller and ask exactly how many days they have been used for.
If you get an answer and it's a bit woolly, then personally I would steer clear at that price.

You want to be looking at something like Scott Crusade in the Scott line at 189 - I m 10o-105 kg and 185 cm and these are very good piste and mixed conditions upto 15-20cm of fresh snow. Normally sold/ rented with a Scott/sth binding.
The Crusade is 94 underfoot and has a reasonable amount of rocker so skis shorter than it sounds! But plenty , plenty of others to look at - eg I'd have the blizzard brahma in my sights if I was shopping for something like that again.

I'll second what the others are saying. I'm under 5ft 10 and only 76 kg and ski a 177cm 98mm non rockered ski. my next pair will likely be rockered and I'd be looking at either moving fatter or going up approx 10cm in length. You sound as if you will be likely to improve your skills over the next few years and do more off piste so you may as well try to get a bargain on a previous years model bought new.
