We have just had an email from "booking.com" to say CGH have sold the hotel and our booking for a long weekend mid December has been cancelled.
Our friends we are travelling with booked with Expedia and have not had any notification
Anyone know what is going on with the hotel - and whether "booking.com" are just messing us around
Anyone else affected?

New Year Week (with no add ons) in Val Claret - £1650. If that's not a sign that the UK economy is not on the up I don't know what is. Lovely hotel though!

jayne durham - Last winter we were well on the way with a 230 mile drive to stay overnight in Pitlochry (to ski at Cairngorm next day) when our hotel - which we booked with Booking.com earlier that day - rang to tell us that the booking had just gone through but they were in fact closed that night....
We immediately rang Booking.com to tell them what had happened - and ask what they were going to do about it. The result? A better/more expensive hotel than the one we had booked - but at the same price as the original booking.
I would suggest taking the same approach with Booking.com.
