We're in Morillon for much of the season but are travelling over to St Anton for the 1st week of Easter to meet friends. Google maps says it's about 5-6 hours, does this seem about right in winter?
Also we're planning on taking a couple of days coming back as we don't get our place back until Monday but St Anton is Sat-Sat, where would you recommend we visit/stop off on the way back? Either skiing or non-skiing.

897sma, make sure the Sat Nag isn't taking you over any cols that are or likely to be closed in Winter.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Via Geneva and Zurich it's pretty much all motorway except for the last bit so time sounds reasonable. Very last bit - from around Bludenz to St Anton might well be very slow, congestion can be a problem there, specially on Saturdays.

Valkyrie, that's the way we'd planned on going.
Coming back we have a couple of days to kill so will probably take a more scenic route.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Driven from French resorts to south west Germany just before new year the last two winters, so following a lot of the route you would do, and we've not had any problems. Timing seems about right. Away from the mountains at either end it's just normal roads/driving. We didn't stop on the way but Bern is a nice city and there are plenty of lakes.

Watch out once you get into Austria for manual speed traps, plus you should be mindful that you need not just a Swiss motorway vignette, but an Austrian one as well (assuming you take that route). The Austrians love nothing more than fining you on the spot...

I've seen that you can buy a Swiss vignette online, where is the best place in Austria, a local petrol station, or can you buy one before you get to Austria?

Local petrol station after you cross the river.

Did St Martin de Belleville (3V) to St Anton last January. Yes-it took us about 7 hours, so allowing for the slightly shorter distance from Morillon, that's probably about right. Roads were good, weather was pretty awful all the way (rain rain and more rain). We bought the Austrian Vignette as Dave says, just over the bridge at the petrol station (you will know it when you get there). Swiss Vignette-you can buy as you cross the border (I think the most direct route is via the motorway that crosses the border just before Geneva). The vignette spotters are out in force there and you just pay for one as you pass through the border-think it will still be 40CHF next year, though I know there is a plan to increase the cost significantly for an annual one, but with a cheaper shorter term one on offer too.
