Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hi. Due to having 5 kids some who work, uni and school we're having to split the family ski trip. Me, partner and two are going to sella ronda on 13 Dec for the Michelin ski safari and lovely italian skiing. Due to school and uni the other three plus us two are looking at easter.
Have used 'go high, go north' but everything is looking expensive at 3 valleys, espace killy etc.
Any views on morzine or livigno or anywhere sub £1k each Inc pass

Hiya! We used to have a place in Morzine & skied every Easter in Avoriaz. Was better than most, even when Easter is late. The only probs is after lunch the sunny sides do tend to get slushy, but if you can get up & out early then its great! Value wise, Easyjet still have some cheapish flights to Geneva and you can get a transfer from there into Morzine. You used to be able to get a just Avoriaz lift pass rather than getting one for the whole Portes du Soleil, which would make things cheaper. Think prices are fairly average in Morzine, much better than 3 valleys but not as cheap as Austria. Dont know about Livigno im afraid!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We used to like Livigno when the kids were a lot younger and just learning, it had a nice atmosphere and the prices were reasonable.
If you look at booking direct rather than with an English tour operator you will find the prices for accommodation aren't that bad in France over the Easter holiday period. Prices for most locally owned accommodation are either at mid season or low season prices from mid March onwards. The French school holidays don't start until 11th April so there is a lot less demand.

Thanks for the comments. We've need up booking an apartment large enough for all 7 of us in Avoriaz and am now looking at flights etc.
All being well there will be a massive dump of snow at the end of March and we'll have a fab time
