I've rented a chalet in La Tzoumaz. Family was meant to fly out from the states, but medical issues have put a brake on that idea.
I could cancel it still, but then where would I ski? So, thought I put this out there and see if there are any other families that would like to join us.
We are 3 advanced skier, (me, the mom, and two girls 12 and 13) and a one run a day skier and the rest internetting (the Dad) ... It is self catering, and I am organized about this. The total rent is 2350 EUR for the week plus electricty, which I'm not really sure how that works...I'd have to get back to you on that one, plus 25 CHF per person for cleaning, for everyone over 4 years old.
The chalet is nice, ski in/out and affordable. It has 5 bedrooms and sleeps up to 15, but don't really want 15 people in there... I was thinking more than 10-12 people in 5 bedrooms, and that it is still affordable. Then like around 250 EUR per week per person... would just divide the total costs evenly amoungst ourselves.
I have been in this house, and ground floor has two bedrooms and the sauna, although you have to walk through one room to get to the other room and the sauna. I thought our family would take this space. The middle floor is kitchen and living room. The top floor had three bedrooms, one with queen/king size type bed, one with a queen and and single (a good kids room) and then one with 3 singles, a bunk and a single. Also a bathroom on that floor.
It also has a sauna... last Christmas I stayed in the house next door, which was smaller, but location was the same. I skied out the door, down to the gondola, and back to the front of the house. I was over in Verbier nearly every day, it only took 15 minutes on ski's, but I didn't stay all day there, because I actually liked skiing La Tzoumaz, it has some fun tree skiing!
The village has a swimming pool, which my kids enjoyed.

Might be just what I'm looking for! I need someone to ski with as the Mrs doesn't ski - what's the town like for non-skiers? She's happy having a wander/coffee watching the world go by (and the toddlers having lessons!).
What are the options to get from the airport to the resort?
