When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello all,

Just curious to know if they were worth picking up.

I found a set of skiis dumped by the side of a road, I walked past once and happened to be walking past an hour later and they were still there. They are in a used condition but i thought i'd check them out.

Ok, I don't know much about skiing and kit, i have only been twice over the last 3 years but I am hoping to get into it.

On the skiis was written: Salomon 9000exp (monocoque)
and on the fixings was written: Composite exp 977s (Salomon)

Anyone know anything about these? are they any good? estimated price (just out of curiosity)?

If so, they look like 99 cents worth! May have been all the rage a few years ago, but they're not likely to get many people excited these days. Still, better than a kick in the teeth.

I you are hard up then you might consider the bindings to fit to some other cheap skis, BUT get them checked by a technician first, I have got a pair of these on my rock hoppers, but I have had them from new so know how they have been treated.

comprex, Yes your right they are the light weight ones, they cost me quite a bit more over the normal alloy ones. wink

The bindings could be OK, they're still on the Salomon list so you could have them mounted on something else. Just don't bother... it's your knees...
