Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mayrhofen (or somewhere else in Austria) in January

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
After missing out on this season due to a new arrival I'm now thinking about next. We're looking at Austria, definitely, and probably Mayrhofen because my non-skiing mum (who's kindly agreed to come along and look after said new arrival) has expressed a desire to go back there. However we need to go in January because I'm going back to work at the beginning of February and won't be allowed time off after that until Easter. Are conditions likely to be OK that early? And does anybody have any suggestions for 2-bed apartments within easyish walking distance of the village centre? Google has found me quite a few but personal recommendations are always good...

Conditions are generally great all season, even in 2007 they were fine (apart from the run down to Tux). Can't help with apartments, we used one a couple of times but were pretty basic.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The Gasser apartments are really nice and close to the lifts, 2 mins, this Easter we stayed at the Huber apartment, again really nice and no more than a 5min walk to the Penken.

We've also stayed at Hubers chalets (think it is the same place as previous poster)- it's in a very quiet part of town but near Ahorn lifts. Not sure about facilities for babies/ toddlers but we stayed with friend and their kids and it was great.

We went for february half term and when we arrived on the Saturday the grass was that same shade of green! The pistes were still in good condition but riding down a white stripe in a green landscape wasn't quite the same. Luckily on Monday night it started snowing and it snowed and snowed until the winter wonderland returned.

In 2013 4 of us stayed in Apartment Brandt at the end of Tuxerstrasse. It was a 6 person apartment and cost about 700 euro for the week (self-catered). Really good apartment and although about a 10-15 minute walk in to town the ski bus stopped right outside the apartment.
