Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Special weekend without my children in PDS

Hi am planning 3/4 day break next Jan to celebrate special anniversary. Flights booked to Geneva. Looking for hotel recommendations in PDS please. Would like somewhere smallish and not too family orientated, as leaving mine behind.

Thanks in advance

Motherof3, smallish and not too family orientated, good location and good restaurant. I haven't stayed there for a few years but would go back. I would say it's clean and no frills though so you might prefer more luxury snowHead

Hi looking for hotel, which has good restaurant and close to slopes. Budget around 1000 euros for 3 nights HB. Have been looking in Les Gets and Morzine, on TA, but would always prefer recommendations.
Thanks

Motherof3, you could look at the Crychar hotel in Les Gets, I have heard good reports of the food there and it is right on the slopes.

In Morzine see https://thefarmhouse.co.uk/chez-moi.php

Pamski, thanks, will contact Crychar. Farmhouse only take week bookings. Have you heard anything of Chamois D'or in LG or Le Cottage in Morzine as these do well on TA, though different in style/budget. Have slight pref for Morzine to be able to access wider area.

Motherof3, The Chamois D'or has been given quite an upgrade since it was the Chamois and the restaurant there, name escapes me at the moment, is apparently good - we haven't eaten there but some of our neighbours, who can be quite picky, have and said it was worth a trip.

We had friends to stay this year and before they moved in with us they stayed for a weekend at the Marmotte hotel - and L'Outa restaurant is right beside the Marmotte (and owned by the same family, as is La Paika on the slope above La Turche and excellent for lunch). L'Outa for dinner - rather chaotic service but the food is good, he runs the wine bar at the side of it.

Motherof3, not a hotel or close to the slopes but hotel quality food and accommodation at the La Ferme du Lac Vert in Montriond http://skizeen.com/. I stopped here in March and it was excellent.

If you wanted a Chatel option the Hotel Macchi is very nice and the restaurant top notch if pricy (Michelin one star sort of standard though it doesn't actually have one)

Not slope side but they have a minibus which takes guests to the lifts and it is located in the village so walkable to everywhere

+ 1 for Chatel Toofy Grin

The Renard is worth a look too http://www.renardhotel.com/ though the website doesn't do the place justice. Run by very, very nice people indeed and the restaurant is amazing Very Happy very well located close to Linga and on the bus route.
