Mosha Marc, in the last pic we are walking down into Val Veny off the Miage glacier - you come out just above Arp Vieille. The couloir is on the SW side of the Miage Glacier...

Quick question - faced with a 12km walk out in touring boots I think I'd carry a pair of trainers / approach shoes. I say I think because I've never done it! Was the terrain so rugged (or perhaps occasional sections when you could get your skis back on) that you really needed to stay in tour boots?
