Have to say St Anton to Zurs connection looks confusing. Are there any plans for runs from this middle station? If not, one coming from Zurs will be in gondola until Alpe Rauz, and then will have to take another lift to get some skiing? This would be long time on the lifts?

The St Anton - Kappl connection is very interesting what with Kappl being part of the Silvretta (Ischgl) lift pass.

the link from Alpe Rauz to Zurs will really open things up but that piste down to Alpe Rauz will be absolute murder with the extra crowds. Crowded pistes is St Anton's major ongoing concern. I might be shot for suggesting it (I am sure it has been considered before, and stanton could fill us in-) but to really open up the area to rival the French resorts one might consider a piste from the back of the Valluga to Zurs. But of course this is holy grail off-piste territory and would detract from the area in the eyes of some.

Lots of new lifts but not so much new terrain or pistes, really - for one, I am not looking forward to this. StA etc has for years had a growing problem with overcrowded pistes - while lift queues except Valluga are rarely a problem, in normal circumstances. The one return valley down is ridiculous at close of play. Not that its alone, Ischgl and a couple of french megaresorts add to the picture, but it seems that stA area will suffer congestion unless more pistes are created. Or, the Swiss solution seen in Verbier and Zermatt - the clever guys just puts out a few yellow poles, neglect grooming and patrolling and suddenly you open up waste areas as "ski routes" or iternaries or other cool names describing the same thing but perhaps attracting another crowd than the offpiste affectionados. But Austian laws does not allow this I suppose, backside of Valluga being sacred etc. Anyway, upgrading or establishing new lifts without having new areas to support the added crowds is not necessarily a good thing.
Upgrading the schindler from a 3 seater to a 6 seather with about twice the spacing inbetween chairs, and not much faster - the only point is to show the world a new modern lift, possibly warming your behind on the way up-- hmm.

Aren't the Austrian ski routes similar to the Swiss ones? For example there is route 33 on the Lech Zurs White Ring.

There are routes in St Anton that are routes in name only... they are groomed every day and may as well be considered a regular run. The Madloch-Zug section of the Weisse Ring is one of them. There are also routes that are never groomed (AFAIK) - just some poles here and there to give an indication of a line to take. Wannele, Mattun, and Tannegg are 3 such routes.
Stanton where is the Eden Rock hotel being built? Hard to tell from the websites, but it looked like somewhere up on Nassereinerstrasse?

ulmerhutte, a lot of the routes aren't groomed every day from what I understand (and have seen), so the Madloch-Zug is more an exception than a rule (not surprising given that it will get considerably more traffic than any other route being part of the Weisse Ring). They only groom the itineraries every now and then when they start to get too chopped up and mogully.
Re the Eden Rock, from watching a video a friend linked to on facebook from Ofa's facebook page, it's along Nassereinerstrasse just a little further up the road from the corner after San Antonio's before you get to the top road branching off to St Jakob (Ing.-Gomperz weg)

Further congestion on the mountain in St Anton will depend primarily on how much more accommodation is built.
Does anybody have any idea of how much future development is planned in that respect?

Thanks, Sitter. . Pfannenkopf is one route that I know is groomed only occasionally. Langerzug is pretty much groomed every day. Mattun is never groomed. I however gather you live there in-season, so you would have a better idea of what they groom and don't, than me. I only spend February there.
I think I now know where the Eden is being built... probably the empty block opposite the Kapelle Pitzi bus stop. Is that Marcus Traxl next door? I think it might be.

The meeting went late into lastnight. There were objections & one of the directors of Arlberg Lift Company was surprised by the way
the State Enviromental Lawyer & Alpenverein (Alpine club) negative views as it has been discussed for some years now.
In summary.
The Operators (Arlberg & Kappl Lift Companys)are "Optimistic"

ArlbergStraßentunnel (Road) will be closed from April 7th 2015 (Tuesday after Easter) for Six & half months so modifications can be bring it up to some Euro directives.
In The Arlberg it is still the ski Season with events like the Weisse Rauch. The St Anton Mayor and the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel (Adi Werner) are not happy & are trying to get the project put back 3 weeks untill the end of the Ski Season.
This will mean travelling via Arlberg Pass & huge increae in traffice & noise.
When tourists (Germans) hear of road chaos they will not come....
