Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Apartment Italy

Hi All
Considering a trip to Italy next half term and are looking at a self catered apartment. We usually go to France where there seems to be a load of these. Can anyone recommend a decent apartment in a resort such as cervina/sestriere/sauze which is close to the lifts. The apartment will be for 2 adults and one child so one bedroom is perfect.

Last time in Sestriere we stayed in a rather bland apartment block called something like "Olympic Apartments". Presumably built as athletes' accommodation some years ago. The one we were in was functional and OK, one lift was more or less opposite and the others a couple of hundred metres up the road.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@TOOTIE, some hotels in Italian resorts may have apartments too. Check out the tourist offices of somewhere you would like to stay.
Alternatively, if you're looking for a package deal, I think Planibel in La Thuile are quite often in brochures.

We stayed in Clotes apartment block in Sauze. Ours was two bedrooms, the decor was pretty old but it was clean and, most importantly, a brilliant location very close to the lifts and the bars and restaurants. There’s a few apartments in the block so 1 bed might be available but seems like 2 bed is likely.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks. Have stayed in the Planibel a few years ago and have read the recent poor review’s regarding the Olympic apartments in Sestriere.
