Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Still loads of snow on the valley floor

Wiiiiiiiiiiiide and powdery slopes

I like it a lot better when the mountains look like winter, instead of greenish hills with white toothpaste

Onnem, well, that certainly suggests that Livigno is a great choice THIS late season.

They had very good last few seasons. Nice place, but shame they don't expand,it is fairly small and isoleted place and a few new runs would help.

I dont think they need to, their business model seems to work just fine, without being a mega resort. wink

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Bones, they tried to build another 2 chairs with runs on the other side of Mottolino but did not get the permission I think.....

Tom W, it's a bit of a marmite resort especially for the mile munchers, but is one of the best places to go for a holiday with skiing . . . Rather than just a ski holiday. Little Angel

Yeah, it's a shame they don't just put a lift on the slopes opposite Federia.
They could easily add 30 km's of slopes with just 1 well-placed lift on this slope

Got to agree with you there Masque. We go to Livigno most Christmases, my wife doesn't ski but gets a holiday while I get a bit of skiing in. Munch miles on the Birthday Bash. Works well for both of us. snowHead

Onnem, THIS late season.

Obviously it can't be this good every single season. And yes, they have had seasons where mid-april the valley descent would be a line of toothpaste as well.

But it really strikes me they have had extremely good conditions consistently, at least the last 3-4 seasons.
Not only massive snowdepths top-till-bottom, but also perfectly prepared slopes over 3 football fields wide.

EDIT - just saw this article http://www.dovesciare.it/news/17/04/2014/livigno-%E2%80%93-sci-senza-fine-carosello-aperto-fino-al-15-maggio
Normally they remain open till may 1st. Due to excellent snow coverage they decided to extend opening of the Carosello side till may 15th.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

We went there late April a couple of years ago - by afternoon the valley bottom was green everywhere between the runs - but it was white every morning. We got to ski fresh powder higher up every morning, and it was really cheap - 6 day lift passes were free with an apartment costing €690 for the week! Best late season skiing we have had, and far and away the cheapest.
