Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Touring Near Bergen in May?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Looks like I'll be in Bergen for a couple of days at the start of May with work. Considering taking the skis with me to fit in a day or two. It looks like the resorts in the area will be closed at the end of April so it will be touring. Can anyone suggest a location reasonably close to Bergen preferably with public transport links?

Does anyone have any idea of roughly where the snowline might be at that time of year? The stations on the train line beyond Voss look fairly high so I'd assume its possible to tour from around there in May. Alternatively does anyone know if the cable car out of Voss continues to run after the resort closes? Any info appreciated.

You can go skiing on the glacier Folgefonna and the lift will be open from mid April. 2,5 h from Bergen including a ferry. If you go much further than Voss with the train there will be snow, but it will be flat. I would go up to the glacier and maybe do some touring up there.
