Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Daily Mail's Top 10 chalets...

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Saturday's Daily Mail tells us what the top 10 swankiest ski chalets are. Despite no Descent International properties, Peter Hardy has managed, yet again, to include Ski Peak and Vaujany! This obsession has been noted before on this forum somewhere. No doubt it is a nice cosy chalet but I'm beginning to smell a nice cosy arrangement. Anyone spotted any other ski writers doing this?

It also had a two page spread on the new Dubai ski dome.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I actually broke the habit of a lunchtime and bought the Daily Mail today, but not for the ski coverage - because it's got a free DVD of that wonderful (and slightly gooey) British film 'Ring of Bright Water'. It's a very cute tale of a man in love with an otter. He takes it to a remote Scottish bay, in a public bus.

It's the kind of film nobody would dream of making nowadays, from an age of innocence and romance.

On John's and Paul's advice I'm now going to look for the chalets and Dubai pieces.

John - are you any relation to Harry ... or Fanny ... or Primrose?

David Goldsmith, everyone in our family tree is just plain John, even the girls.

Mark Frary has written a good piece in today's Times re the perils of hospitalisation in Bulgaria (definitely no cosy freebies there). This is the way it should be... useful, credible journalism about the things that really matter to the reader. A real contrast to the "where I went for my free holiday" style you get in today's Mail. (Dubai piece was good though).

David Goldsmith,

That is a great film, haven't seen it in ages
