Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just had an email through mentioning this. For next season Jet 2 is starting a Saturday Manchester-Turin service. Hope it's helpful to someone.

Turin airport is very handy for a lot of resorts in France as well as the Bardonecchia and Aosta areas. For example it is (just) closer to Valloire than either Grenoble or Geneva though the Fréjus Tunnel adds to costs and I suspect cars hired in Turin often don't have snow tyres.

Much easier for Serre Chevalier than Grenoble too.

pam w, Best option is to go for a 4X4 basic car hire. I got an upgrade from the Turin Budget group......... Volvo X4 (D4).
BTW Turin is a great airport to fly into....... 90 minutes from La Thuile and Courmayeur, 2 hours from Champoluc/Gressoney, 2.5 hours to Cervinia.
SADLY......... only weekly flights!

Hells Bells, I drove down to Turin and back (station, not airport) today and was reminded again of how easy it is. Friends with an apartment here in Les Saisies often fly to Turin because they can get much cheaper flights - though it's a longer drive to get up here. The Italian motorway "aires" aren't a patch on the French ones, though!

pam w, true, but I don't need them if I'm going to Serre Che from Turin. Shame the flights are Saturday only. I tend to have Sunday as changeover day at my place, perhaps I am going to have to go Sat-Sat after all. There is always Ryanair from Stansted and BA from Gatwick.

Hells Bells, because of travelling with a car-sick 2 year old who needed frequent stops, I noticed the inferiority of the Italian aires today. Confused Thankfully we got him to Turin with no throwing up. easyJet do Turin from Gatwick, too.

pam w, we had to stop at the bottom of the Lauteret with a car sick dog on Saturday (actually easier to mop up than a child) . The layby had several cars of car-sick kids looking very pale. Fortunately this is now the only time Lola is ill.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

As a matter of interest I just checked the easyJet flights from Gatwick to Turin and Geneva for Easter (5/12 April). Turin £140, Geneva £310 return. Quite a difference!

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

spyderjon, I chose Sunday as the changeover day because of the charter flights mainly arriving on Sunday, but it is nigh on impossible to book flight only now.
