Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Insurance question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Following my accident in February I have to have an ACL replacement the timing of which may mean I am unable to take my booked and partially paid (flights) holiday to Jamaica in June.
I have travel insurance but this requires renewal in March but I am unsure how this works.
Would my current insurance cover the cancellation of the June holiday (if I need to) or would I need to renew with the same company although I would have to register the pre-existing condition so they could possibly decline cover.
Any similar experience or views on this would be very welcome.
Thanks

Steve.S, ask them

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think because you booked during your current cover that would cover it. But as holidayloverxx says, best to ask.

I would have thought your current insurance would cover it normally, if you were renewing, but not otherwise. The second part of your question suggests that they don't already know about the "pre-existing condition". My view is that you always need to tell insurance companies everything, right away - their small print always says so.

Why would you not renew with the same company?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Either way I think renewing with the same company, unless you have good reason not to, is going to make the whole process simpler.

You'll need to Register first of course.

i think the issue lies whether Steve.S is going to cancel the flights or not. If he knows now that the is cancelling then I would expect to be covered now (may be proved wrong though). If he wants to wait and see then it will be a new policy with pre-existing condition. They might offer cover with an additional premium at renewal
