Hey Guys,
I'm thinking of doing this course:

On the 5th, 6th, 7th April! It looks like a good intermediate course, and conveniently doable over a long weekend! Would anyone be keen to do it also?
I'm 26, and am an intermediate skier. I will be flying in from London.

Hi Simon, I might be interested - have you spoken to the company about any more details? I'd be keen to know group sizes etc, and a little bit more about the types of terrain covered/level of skiing.
I'm already in Chamonix, so that's easy

I was lucky enough to win the BASS Chamonix 10 year anniversary competition. The prize was one of their off piste courses. I did the one a few weeks ago. The franchise's director Derek Tate was our instructor for the 3 days. I'm out here for the season as well so perodic instruction always helps.
There were 6 in our group, the max I think. Most had done some side of pistes and maybe a few week off-piste. A fairly mixed group but Derek seemed to find each persons weakness and successfully improve everybody's skiing by the end of the second day. First few days were spent at GM skiing everywhere bar the top. I think BASS have a good concept of the first 2 days with a level 4 instructor and then a third with a mountain guide. This allows people to see a positive progression throughout the course and then put it into practice in some tougher conditions in the high mountain environment. Well I say tougher conditions…. we had poor vis and high winds on our last day, so Robbie Fenlon, our guide, recommended a day in the trees at Courmayeur. It pounded it down all day, fresh tracks everywhere we went, waist deep and everybody had a blast. It really wasn't very tough, all you had to do was point'em down hill and hope it was steep enough to get enough speed to move. Big smiles everywhere. Derek came along as well to give further instruction, something he didn't have to do.
All in all a very good few days and I'd strongly recommend it.

I'm out of this one I'm afraid - going to put the money towards Snowheads bashes and possibly a guide in Cham if some friends get sorted out.

Please don't use BASS. They cancel days at very short notice - whilst having pre-booked lessons and they make changes to class composition every day - yes every day.
