Just back from a week in which we could only ski for 2 days due to white-out fog. Does this happen often there, we'd love to go back as it's a nice little village but wonder if they often suffer from these conditions ?
ps : the pistes were great when we could see them !

together, I spent a week in Passo Tonale some years back and had one afternoon of blizzard conditions and the rest of the week was lovely sunshine, just to prove that varying weather conditions can happen anywhere. Passo Tonale is high and exposed so you don't have the benefit of tree cover if the weather clouds over, any ski area above the tree line would have this problem.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We ski-ied in Santa Caterina (20 km away) for about 15 years, in that time we had one day when we couldn't ski, and that was a snow dump. We must have been lucky, it's difficult to get to now.
we skiid Passo T in 2011 and it was wall to wall sunshine all week (went first week of feb)., It was boiling - saw people skiing in Tshirs one day
here is our vid (showing the sunshine) http://youtube.com/v/miFOWvKQ9_8
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We skied there in Feb Half Term this year and 4 of the 6 days were very poor visibility. Mist, fog and lots of snow on 1 or 2 days. The weather conditions changed very quickly but we did not have any days where you could not ski. Speaking to some people in our hotel they had been the previous year and had 6 days of blue skies with perfect visibility.
