Poster: A snowHead
|
I know there are some eco friendly waxes out there but I am yet to find something in the base repair department. I work in a ski shop and I'm trying to find some alternatives to P tex or best practices cause those fumes are nasty stuff. Any one have some experience or knowledge in this area?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Given it has to bond to the base and have the same properties I think you're out of luck. I guess you could cut out the repair area and replace it with some other material. Wouldn't have the same properties but might not matter that much if its small.

klamfish, for a moment I went dreadfully cynical. Then I thought: no new poster has ever come on to snowheads and started a thread with a view to plug a product. So I am sure you haven't.

Someone who worked a lot on bases once told me that Araldite actually breaks down the UHMWPE is contacts and as such shouldnt be used if you want the ski to last a long time...
I have no 1st person evidence but he generally knows his stuff
