That's quite good. I usually carry them like the local, the offering, dragging them along the snow or the boyfriend(though then they're my brothers skis).

Very amusing. I normally do the local. but sometimes the pimp stick or 'jibber drag' depending on how tired I am. Might have to give the hobo a try!

The local is the generally approved method, fish hook allowable in liftlines - exception is helisking when jibber drag is mandatory.

Naw, whenever we went skiing with other families it was always the older sibling that had to carry the skis and the younger one got the poles, I think it was just a way for the dad's to avoid 'the dad' though.

Generally the Local, sometimes the Pimp Stick and occasionally relegated to the Boyfriend. I have been practising the Hobo in my garden and think I've got it sorted now.

I normally just carry my skis with one hand just behind the front bindings. Much easier to avoid clouting people with than having them over a shoulder, much less tricky than trying to hook them by the front binding especially with tech bindings.

I do think that an adult, choosing to ski, should be fully capable of carrying their own skis.

I've helped with poles in certain situations, and maybe taken skis on stairs when the kids were very small, but on the whole they have always carried their own skis and poles (when old enough to need them) since starting skiing at around 3 years old - we have always tried to do ski in/out, but their have been exceptions. On reflection this was the right thing to do as they think nothing of it now.

meh, same as me, the amusing video calls that the 'fishhook' method. I can't carry them on my shoulder as I find it excruciatingly painful.

Katia, You say "used to", does that mean he is no more and if so is that because he wouldn't carry your skis?

queen bodecia, actually I'm not describing the fish hook the closest to the grip I'm talking about is 'the suitcase' but without using the poles as a handle so you are holding the ski below the front binding with the hand wrapped around the skis themselves and the fingers closed round the lower edges. The fish hook is holding onto the front binding.
