Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Patrol Courses - Snow challenge

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi guys,

I am in the process of researching ski patrol/instructor courses and was wondering if anybody has any advice on where is best? I am looking mostly at Snow Challenge but it is hard to find customer reviews about the courses. It seems like snow challenge was the original and offers the best first aid training but the combined patrol/instructor courses look too good to be true (price wise).

Any information would be great.

Thanks,

Adz Very Happy

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Looking at what BASP offers, is that not primarily for UK ski patroller?

When I did a "morning with a pisteur" last year I think, unless I misunderstood the guy, that they'd all done at least a 3 month course. All the pisteurs I've seen in action in France have been very impressive skiers, too.

That's interesting. Ideally i would like to go on a long course that covers everything. I understand there is a lot of study in terms of first aid but it seems finding a clear course is difficult.

I would think that if you wish to work as a patroller you will need to do the course/qualifications in the country that you wish to work in. Different standards and different focus due to the peculiarity of each countries different history, laws and culture.
