Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

easiest ski runs jungfrau

 Poster: A snowHead

Can anyone suggest which are the easiest runs in the jungfrau region. I'm heading out to Wengen in a few weeks with my husband and have recently discovered that I am pregnant. Great timing, eh?!

I'm not the world's best skier at the best of times, and I will be 11wks when we're out there. I'm still wanting to ski but will take it easy.

Thanks in advance.

ponypony, Welcome to snowHeads! snowHead

From Wengen if you catch the train up to Kleine Scheidegg you can then take the blue run 22 which is an easy run (and scenic, with a great view of the Eiger) down to Brandegg. From there trains run back up to Kleine Scheidegg about every 30 mins (take time to try the Apple Fritters in the Brandegg Restaurant!). Madeye-Smiley

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

And then from Scheidegg all the way back to Wengen. Lots of easy stuff - enjoy!

Thanks both, sounds great especially the fritters!

Are there any tame runs in the Mannlichen area? I'm really keen to ride up in the cable car.

A few of the reds aren't too challenging ... but the blue from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen is nice

Theres also a pretty easy blue on the Mannlichen from the top to the Mannlichen chair, but just be aware that it is crossed in 3places by the steeper red runs s look to your left when crossing.

On the blue 22 to Brandegg I would suggest taking the left hand fork (a few hundred meters after the left fork down to the Arven chair lift and 2 others) as this is a slightly easier route and avoids a steeper section followed by a walk

Depending on conditions you may wish to avoid the last stretch home to Wengen by getting on the train at Allmend, since the last stretch can get very busy at lunchtime and the end of the day and you the have a lot of skiers all trying to go down a narrow piste.

The good news is that if you feel like taking things easy when you are out there almost every mountain restaurant can be reached with just a short walk from train or cablecar which is great if you want to meet with others.

Finally Congratulations and enjoy Wengen
