Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Friedrichafen to st Anton - transfer

Hi, trying to find out if there is a bus service for Friedrichafen to St Anton, the link on the airport web site doesn't work, and The Loacker site is in Germany looking to go out Saturday come back Wednesday.

Not sure about bus but there is a train station immediately outside the airport so it is definitely possible to do it with a few changes but from recollection might take as much as 4 hours

Fyi I rented a car there previously quite cheap, think it was about two hour drive, car useful in St anton as imo best pistes are in zurs

The Tourist Office in St Anton has the details about the bus transfer 00 43 5446 22690 closed on Sundays. Train involves several changes.
I agree with 8611, in that car hire is worth it. I did this in January. It is about a 90 minute drive and having a car allows easy trips to Sonnenkopf / Lech / Zurs / etc
If you plan to visit at least one of those areas (and why wouldn't you) then the convenience of a car beats the bus, and the cost becomes reasonable as set against even a shared taxi

agree with JohnHsmith, its about a 90min drive from Fredreichshafen and a car would be really useful to visit Sonnenkopf and Lech / Zurs.
There is a ski bus but the timetable is not that good and it always seems to be heaving, a car would give lots of options.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Train. You will not need a car in St Anton.

It is dead easy

We have used a good private taxi transfer with Christian Frey see http://www.airport-service-frey.com. Hr is based in Lindau v close to Friedrichshafen. Cost last time was €90 return. Fast and reliable.

That's €90 per person by the way but still cheaper than car hire

Train station at Friedrichshafen airport itself, just over the road from the terminal (via footbridge).

Can vouch for the station, you could practically throw your luggage into it from the front door of the terminal building it is so close. We investigated trains but treated ourselves to Christian's transfer and were in resort by 12.30pm. Free schnapps on arrival too! snowHead
