Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am taking my boys 10,13, 20 for a Jolly. Want to get the away from it mountain environment feel rather than commercial built up ski resort "holiday" for at least a few days of the break.
Have been looking at a chalet d alpage on www.leboncoin.fr as an option to stay, but am asking if there are any easily accessible huts to overnight in that anyone can reccomend. Even yurts or similar... Not really fussed about area, ....but Europe please ...

I took my son to the Monterosa area in Italy (close to Turin), and skied up to Rifugio Gabiet http://www.rifugiogabiet.it. Nice people, lots of hearty food, big fire and when the lifts stop you have the mountain to yourselves.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Indeed, the Italians seem to have more on offer in terms of sleeping in mountain huts - although for half term, you're kinda late..

It seems most huts get pre-booked from the guides taking groups around on the mountain hut tours. Having said that, I've come across one group of that I follow on FB, and I like what I see there, and they do 3-4 days tours of huts - maybe your group would like it.
