Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Uh, those are two very, very different skis. That's a very strange either/or decision!

Either binding should work for you. Your best bet is to demo the skis, though... you might find em a bit soft, but you never know.

These bindings are two totally different animals. The Jester Pro is a heavywright freeride binding whereas the Baron is a medium-weight ski touring binding that has s freeheel mode. The Baron is not up to your weight. If you want a touring binding, consider the beefier Duke model. If you don't want a touring binding the Jester Pro will be fine.

Concerning the skis I am not a great fan of K2 (not important why, plenty of other people love them), so I'm not that familiar with their line-up.. But the Recoil is a fairly all-round ski which gets good reviews, hard to go wrong with it. By contrast the Backdrop is a lightweight back country ski (not surprisingly given the bindings it comes with). I would be worried about your weight on that ski.

So K2 Recoil/Jester Pro seems like a solid thumbs up and Backdrop/Baron a big thumbs down. If you want a ski touring set up I am not the right person to advise you. Not many guys of your weight enjoy ski touring Happy Given your weight you will need to go fairly long with the Recoils even though you are quite short. If you are a good skier get the Recoil in 179, otherwise 174.
