Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Late bookings with travel agents.

Looking at booking a package deal for Christmas week, flying out to Les Arcs on 20th December, family of 4.

No preference on hotel/apartment so was planning to leave it late so we can guarantee the snow and hopefully bag ourselves a bargain. Does anyone have views of booking late so this can be achieved? Especially Christmas week, which I understand is not too busy.

Looking at the Crystal website and if dates are selected for a few weeks there are some great deals around, this has been the case since the New Year.

winter2009, I was watching Esprit offers and saw some reasonably descent prices come up for Christmas week. Wasn't watching Crystal, sorry.

winter2009, if you are decided on Les Arcs it might be best not to leave it to a late package booking - you need to be flexible to take best advantage of late booking.

However, if an apartment is one of your options, it might be cheaper to DIY - book flights with easyjet as soon as they are released, hire a car and book an apartment separately later (but not too late, Christmas isn't that quiet!). You get a far better choice of apartments booking independently than you do with tour operators and none of the "under occupancy" complications.

It might be cheaper to drive than to fly (even cheaply) and rent a car, but that might not be an attractive option with kids.
