Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

there's a diversion for light vehicles I understand. But the motorway via Annecy would be more straightforward - if less picturesque.

I went on the Megeve road at the weekend, the d1212.
There is a diversion due to a landslide, but it is not too bad.
I think it is and extra 60 miles via the motorway.

You'll need to Register first of course.

Personally I'd do the Gorge d'Arly and the diversion - the motorway is so tedious. Time difference would be negligible, I suspect, but the Gorge route would be cheaper (unless another big rock dropped on your head, of course).

Gorge road closed for several weeks due to road works and there was a landslide on the closed section recently where they were going to do blasting but now its happened naturally. We went through last Saturday and the diversion is fine and only adds about 10-15 minutes to the journey time.
