Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone know what the parking is like for Motorhomes in Val D'Isere. Driving down 15th Feb or 1 week later.

Extremely difficult I'm afraid - I tried for an overnight stay and had a mini disaster as I broke a snow chain and slid into a farmers' field - had to get pulled out by his tractor for the princely sum of a bottle of port. There is one car park that allows it if you can find space - one the way to Le Fornet it's called P3 and is opposite cemetry.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi, I was there last week and I'm afraid it was a non starter for motor homing friends. The free parking has been blocked off with large boulders by the local police as permanent trucks have made camp for the season and have annoyed neighbours etc. the closest is Les Brev at the bottom of Tignes or up at Ste Foy on the access road (but quite a slope).

Further up a La Foret has 48 hour free parking, but they did literally get moved on after that. In the end my friends parked at Les Brev and used the lifts to get over to Val every day to meet up. Which was very easy still.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks jph123. Very useful - it is a bit far to drive unless you know there will be parking. Looking at Morzine, it looks more Motorhome friendly!

not really sure how van friendly morzine will be to be honest. there's a campsite down the road, but if your looking to just park up i'm not sure where to go...best guess would be in one of the carparks up the road to avoriaz.

you'll want to check your dates against school holidays though, if it clashes you'll struggle. chamonix has loads of spaces that come holiday time turn into mini campsites meaning no one else can get parked!
