Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Not good at all. Can't believe how little snow there actually is!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I was in the Garmisch Classic area at the weekend, 11 & 12 January.

There is plenty of snow at the top of the Hausberg gondola, and down to the Kandahar Express. The lower section of the Kandahar is very patchy but skiable, and I did not go down to the valley on the Olympia. The Kochelberg valley run does have enough snow, or at least it did on Sat and Sun afternoon.
The Kreuzeck and Alpspitz areas also have plenty of snow, and the Bernadein, a nice run winding down through trees, is open contrary to what it says on the website.

I am not sure where those pictures were taken. It looks like the middle section of the Kandahar, and I was skiing on that exact piste on Sunday! There may not be enough for a race, but there is certainly enough for the hundreds of recreational skiers who were out at the weekend.

stewart woodward, the Local is a well known joke in these parts - they could and would not recognise a substantiated fact if it came up and kick them in the backside and said "here I am". American run, American edited and atrocious reporting. There is a big US Armed Forces R&R base their with a large hotel that also functions as a seminar school. Perhaps a few visitors from Berlin or wherever they are based was surprised not to see the levels/quantities of snow that were being reported back home so they complained. A friend works as a manager at this place in GAP and she has us in tears of laughter when she tells us some of the things that visitors from "God's own country" say or ask about!
