Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Rossi binding heel pieces

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Getting fed up of breaking heel tracks in Rossi Axial 2/Look PX bindings resulting in super sloppy heel carriage, loss of meaningful forward pressure adjustment and pre-release in unfortunate places.

Can I mount say an Axial 1 heel (turntable ish but not FKS full turntable) with an Axial 2 toe or does this do weird stuff to ramp angles etc etc? Any other (informed or otherwise) yays or nays?

fatbob, I binned the binders and replaced with tyrolia that I know and trust plus a race plate to stiffen things up. Are they on a flat ski? Jon did the set up for me and I am really happy with it.. flat delta and rock solid

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

fatbob, axial 1 toe is essentally the same toe piece as axial 2, but the ramp on axial 1 can be huge, but can easily be adjusted with shims and longer screws. I only ever use axial 1 or pivot / fks.

Axial 2 are a bit dire.

You could always use the worm drive race version of axial 2 which has a different heel track?

Yep - heel piece slots into a metal track which unfortunately seems prone to fracturing at least when mounted to a wide ski that gets a lot of torque.
