Poster: A snowHead
|
Bought my daughter new Fischer ski boots for her Xmas last year. Has only been skiing 5/6 days on them but are quite noisy. She's heading off to Alpe d'Huez on Saturday with the school for a week and wondered if there was anything I could do to them to stop them from squeaking. I'm guessing they won't be as noisy as 30 13/14 year olds but what the hey - are the fountain of all knowledge and thought I would throw it out there.
TIA

boabski, it will. Most people don't knwo about the mice. They keep stray breadcrumbs from under your feet, but sometimes they get lost.

Remember an instructor tell me he knew if I was bending my ankles if he could hear my boots

boabski, a dribble of soapy water is all you need for lubricant, the residue after it dries will do the job. Avoid anything that is a pure petrochemical product like WD40. Boot plastics are very robust but we tend to just shove them into storage at the end of a holiday. A dry silicone lube can be used but better is a graphite spray that is inert to the plastics.

Remove the bottle of contact lens solution?
Ooops........sorry wrong thread.
Can't help as it's new boots, if they were old I'd suggest the age of the plastic, my old one certainly squeaked something terrible, but my new ones don't, but that clearly isn't the case here as these are new boots.

Megamum, how funny. Mine squeaked something awful when new. But the mice must have died due to a lack of greadcrumbs.
