Hi all,
I'm looking for some new ski-boots and am wanting to buy from somewhere that can give me good advice and a good fitting service. I live in West Yorkshire (Huddersfield) and have tried BAC Leisure in Elland but there was nothing suitable for my size/budget ..... can anyone recommend anywhere else fairly local I can try? I know about Ellis Brigham in the fridge at Castleford but ideally would like a small independent retailer.
Cheers all.
G.

Glide and Slide in Otley I think it is. Or Backcountry in Ilkley - who mainly do touring gear but I'm sure have Alpine gear as well.

Rivington Alpine (just off M61) is not too far from Huddersfield and a highly rated bootfitter

Rivington are good, EB at Cas should be ok if the ones at Tamworth who did a great job for me are anything to go by.

This is where I got my boots. He was patient and very helpful, and I got a good boot that feels right (when wearing at home to pack it out and two hours skiing an indoor slope). I do not think you can go wrong with them.

You know it makes sense.

Russeh, Eddie is one day of the longest working bootfitters at EB and actually takes a good interest in it, he knows his stuff.
I would go for Glide n Slide or Rivington Alpine tbh but if you have to go to EB, ask for Eddie specifically.

crazy_skier_jules, yeah he does know his stuff. I mean I looked at all the little specialist places like glide n slide but with me being within 15 minutes of xscape Castleford I like the fact I could bob by EB and get my boots adjusted if they needed it. That's probably not the same for everyone though, EB don't charge for going back and making adjustments.

+1 for Rivington Alpine, Graham is your man there, but book an appointment and allow at least 3 hours for the fitting.
