Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skied there many. many moons ago so sadly no current information. I enjoyed it and it kept me happy for a few days any way. I stayed down the valley in the beautiful spa town of La Bourboule.

However friends have a house not too far away in the Cantal so they can ski at Le Lioran (on Plomb du Cantal/Puy Mary) on a regular basis. They have told me that so far this season things have not been too good. (this is the English version of the web site: http://www.lelioran.com/index.php?_lang=GB) They have not yet bothered to go down there to ski (they live in France and are retired so they can depart when ever they want to). I know that both of them are passionate skiers, so had conditions been good they would have upped sticks and been off like the proverbial from a shovel!

meandrew, I skid there on my first ski trip ever, school trip in the 70's......very fond memories but never been back for skiing, albeit went in summer about 5-6 years ago and looked good, vowed we will go back and fully intend to. Supposed to great Freeride terrain and a bit of a local Mecca for gnalies, don't know how conditions are this year.

Well worth a look, if some decent snow then go.

Markymark29, yeah that's what I was guessing I wondering if to wait last minute and just drive down if the snows good and see if we can get accommodation last minute, but it does look good for off piste if conditions are right so I will be needing a local guide. There looks to be enough for a week if conditions are good so fingers crossed ,just out of interested do you know when the French school hols are?.

Skied Mont Dore twice in the last 10years, on neither occasion was the link to Super Besse open, once (3 day visit) too much (poor piste bashing) and once (1 day) lack of the white stuff on the South side, but that was in the middle of April. Mont Dore spa town good fun though.
