Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone ever done this? Am wondering what to expect.

How much will the snow conditions effect it?

Thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They do two courses - an intro to offpiste and group guided off piste. I did the latter last year. It's run by Olivier, the owner of Evo 2 Montchavin Les Coches. He's great - kind of a gruff Frenchman but really nice guy and speaks excellent English. He was born in Montchavin and has a truly excellent knowledge of the mountain - he''ll definitely know the best places to go. It's more group guiding than instruction, though he gives tips. The standard is reasonably high and you need to be an experienced off-piste skier. I've not done the intro course but would expect it's good. Dominic, who works on the admin side for the ski school bookings, is a Brit, though it's hard to tell when he speaks French he's so fluent!

It's a good ski school - the group sizes are small and the instructors I've met very happy/friendly/proactive. I spent the 2012/13 season running a chalet in Montchavin and we got consistently feedback from our guests about them.

Another thumbs up for Evolution 2 in Montchavin/Les Coches although based on kids school ski experience, but thought I'd add just incase anyone looks at this thread for that reason. My son loved it, and he hated ski school before, they were small groups, he had Bruno who was fantastic. Son asked to go back second week, result. We are intending going again this Easter and it is mainly due to the ski school that we are picking that area. Friend had a private lesson and she also thought it was very good and is going to have a couple again this time.
