Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New skis arrived, setting binding to existing boot.

I'm happy I know what to set the DIN scale to. I have a small question about the length of the binding to match the boot.

When I bought the skis (Rossignol Pursuit 16), They asked my boot size (which I gave them), to I guess the bindings were fitted to the right place on the ski.

When I try the boot out, it's a little snug in the binding that my old ski, I can move the front of the binding to the next notch and it's a little loose.

What would people suggest be the safest? It's not massively tight. Seems my boot length is just between the sizes on the binding notches.

I'm thinking stick to the snug fit, rather than loose.

clashcityrocker, What are the bindings? There will be a forward pressure adjustment mechanism that will need to be set correctly. The mechanism varies depending on the make/model of binding.

If you're unsure, it might be best to take it to a shop to check it for you.

It's a Rossignol Axium 110 L TPI2

Company I bought from took boot size, weight, experience into account when they mounted them, so I guess it's all done, ready to ski. It just seemed a little more snug than my previous ski/binding, and moving it out to the next notch, it's a little more slack, wondered which was the best option.

Sounds to me that it still needs a final adjustment on the forward pressure. Most retailers will do this for free.

My Axium 120 TPI2 has a forward pressure indicator on the side of the heelpiece...IIRC a little black line appears when the boot is in with sufficient fwd pressure. Also, it's possible that moving the heelpiece back/fwd may give a finer adjustment than moving the toe. You certainly don't want the boot to be loose!

Many thanks, the heel did indeed allow finer adjustment, it now fits the boot spot on, without me having to fiddle with things I don't know too much about...

Edit: Found it. Thanks all, forward pressure set.
