Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Home, feeling flat in many ways! Decided on way home to buy so efforts will be concentrated in that direction.

If that comes off in time I'll probably stay out most of next winter.

Body is far less broken this year but I'm off to the physio for a good sports massage on Friday. Bizarrely my legs suffered more from Saturdays dancing than from all the skiing Shocked

I'm no expert but if you are going to buy then change any pounds you may be using into euros as soon as you can as the pound seems destined to drop following the election (usually happens). However, if we get Grexit then who knows - maybe go to a casino!!Very Happy

But with QE coming in in Europe for the next 16 months it could also go up.

(There is a thread on here regarding it)

Went to the physio for a sports massage yesterday after my exertions. Last year I was completely broken when I came back, this year with the work he did on my back last year and legs this year far less so. The stretching regime I have makes a world of difference. A slightly tight right hamstring and left quad was all the damage. Already started biking for the summer, aim is to climb a Col when I'm back in August. Oh and the property search has begun too, busy times Happy

Have extended into the summer this year too. As I'm now buying an apartment there I visited for 3 days a few weeks ago and for a week returning yesterday. I love it in the summer too. The short trip was out of season but after a day apartment viewing I went for a big walk up Vallee Blanche with a friend and her dog. The weather was good and it was very chilled. It's been very warm for the last week and I did 2 fairly big walks, Lac Lauvitel which is beautiful, down to Venosc and back up which is very steep and another up to the top of Valentine. A lot of friends there this week and I went to a couple of barbecues and generally had a good time.

Next visit is for the 2nd half of August when I should be getting the keys for the apartment. My daughter and her boyfriend will be with me for the first week and a lot of friends will be there too. More walking, some mountain and road biking are planned along with some of the work needed in the apartment. I shall be having an apartment warming party and once I've bought a nice big table and chairs for the huge balcony plan to eat out there for the fortnight.

Next years report is likely to cover 7 or 8 months Happy

That all sounds terrific, @Claude B - sounds like you've got great times ahead. I'm missing the Alpine summer for the first time in 12 years - not likely to be out again before late September, though autumn is wonderful too.

@kiteman69, I did, we ate our picnic sitting on a rock with our feet in the water Happy Not a huge walk, about 4.5 miles round trip with 1850 ft of vertical (up and then down), hard enough on a very warm day though Happy

That encapsulates the loveliness of the Alps in summer. I don't want a second home and I wouldn't want to live in the Alps all year round, but they sure are a gorgeous place to spend lots of time. You done good.
Very Happy
