Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Edge and Wax boot fitting

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

anyone had any experience of them? I bought my skis from them and a few other bits and they are my nearest boot fitters. From what I've seen on their web site they certainly look good.

I have always had feet problems so really wanting to find a top fitting service - willing to travel if need be to get the right place.

Major problem could be actually getting a boot to fit me, size 30/350 - I wonder who might hold best stock in such sizes? Spoke to solutions4feet this morning so may make a trip up there in time for next season.

Thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Scott sorted me out with boots himself in 2009 I think. I have no complaints whatsoever and would recommend them to anyone. They always service my skis too.

I have seen their boot fitting in action, and agree it is a big step up from the S&R, Ellis Brigham attempts at fitting, but I would regard it to be different to the Solutions4feet experience, and similar to the Profeet experience. Having now used pretty much all of them for one thing or another, if I was looking for world class perfectly fitting boots and I was prepared to pay a small premium to get it I would go with Solutions4feet.

If you have problem feet that is probably the answer IMO. If you are near Edge & Wax you are probably not too far from Bicester to get it right - you can always ask Colin to take a look, explain how he'd go about it, and then if you are happy go ahead. Almost every decent boot fitter I have encountered will happily discuss it, spend a small amount of time looking at things, without charging a significant amount of money for a few minutes of their time. Worth an e-mail and see if you can get a bit of a feel for which you are going to get on with.
