Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

8 Lads, Boarding Holiday, suggestions needed!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

So, I've been wanting to learn to board for a while now after 6 years on skis. Problem has been that the missus isn't really bothered about boarding and happy to ski, so i wasn't about to waste time on our trips separated while I learn. However, a few of the lads are interested in learning and having a lads boarding holiday.

Looks like I will be the main 'planner' of said holiday, but where should we go?

A few things to take into account:

1. We will all be pretty much beginners although we plan a few lessons before we go out (probably castleford) and possibly one group lesson out there

2. We need decent apre ski options

3. The lads aren't really up for where we usually go (Meribel) as too expensive

4. No real preference on country (France for me but they're not bothered!)

5. March 2015

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Mac22, are you young enough for UCPA? Have a look at the 2014 offerings on the Action Outdoors website, which will give you an idea. There is a centre in Val D'Isere which should be good from the apres ski options.

Mayrhofen would tick all of those boxes. There is a comedy festival towards the end of March and also Snowbombing at the start of April.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

What about Pas De La Casa in Andorra?

In that case I would strongly recomend UCPA via Action Outdoors. Will be much more fun to do a week of lessons with UCPA and actually be OK at snowboarding rather than just having one group lesson while out there.

Check out the Action Outdoors website to see which resoprts they have snowbaording lessons on the week you want - loads of centres and lots with good apres.

Mayrhofen is a good shout, prices are good, transfer times are relatively fast and it's lively. Also has a pretty good snow park.

Pas de La Casa in Andorra is the best resort I have been to with friends. (Going back this year). The place is mental and the grandvalaria ski area is brilliant. Great skiing and great partying if that's what you want and it is very cheap if you book early enough. A group of 6 of us are going out now in Feb. We booked it in October just past for a week for £239 incl. flights accommodation (pretty bog standard self catering) and transfers. All in all we will do the week for £600-700 incl. spending money and lift passes.
