Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi Snowheads.
We are off to Val D'Isere on 8th Jan
I need to get some kits for my boys who are doing the basi 1 snowboard course. I need snowboard bindings * 1 and two sets of SB boots along with some other stuff.
Coming from South Africa the costs are killing
Could anyone point me in the direction of a decent shop in Val D for the above stuff that is at least value for money if not "cheap"
Would also consider 2nd hand if there is anyone in Val D looking to off load anything useful.
Dave

I think there's The Sole Lab. Probably worthwhile dropping Steve Angus a pm. He's an instructor based out of Val D and knows his way around. Good luck.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Are the Sole lads not in Chamonix?

Maybe the Boot Lab then? It's on the Olympique avenue a bit off the main roundabout, a few yards down from a ski hire shop.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Misty fly is the main snowboard shop in Val - but not cheap - nowherein resort will be cheap this time of year!
If you're driving up you could stop in bourg st Maurice - there's an intersport and maybe better value in the shops in town - or find a decathlon?
Alternatively why not hire for the week - the gear might be a bit iffy but a lot cheaper than buying I'd think?

The nearest Decathlon is in Albertville. If you know what you want then maybe look at
Ekosport
and either call in or get them to send the stuff to you in Val d'Isere.
