Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Xmas Day Road Trip - Serre - Briancon - Montgenevre - Claviere - Sauz d'Oulx Baradonecchia - Frejus

Poster: A snowHead
So rain all night at 1400m left home at 09:15 and couldn't believe it as we descended into the valley, Chantermerle it was snowing heavily and the same for Briancon - work that one out Puzzled

People were putting chains out to get up to Montgenevre at Vachette, and it was snowing heavily - made it up to Montgenevre no problem overtaking a fair number of people crawling up at 10mph.

Over the Col it was puking down, and far far heavier than down in Serre as we descended past Claviere it was really heavy and in fact just got heavier all the way down to Oulx, where I was hoping it would be raining to make the journey easy - far from it, the descent again was interrupted by people crawling along on road tyres and or chains.

Once on the auto route to Frejus was still really heavy and just as we got on to it so we caught up with the snow ploughs so we were down to 30km all the way to the tunnel Sad

Really didn't know what to expect on the other side of the tunnel, and was concerned it would still be puking down and we'd end up doing 30kph all the way to Chambery, but we spoke to my daughter in La Tania who said it was not snowing there!

Once out of the tunnel it was raining, totally bizarre and so it was all the way to Chambery with torrential rain at times making driving almost as bad as in the snow!
