Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anybody recommend a Doctor (GP) in Chamonix

My young family and I are staying in town for the season and it would be good to register with a GP for the 5 months. Ideally one that spoke english as I don't think my limited french will stretch to medical terminology.

His/Her first task would be to give my wife and I a MOT for a Carre Neige.

Thanks in advance

Buddy1664, I'm not sure you really register with a GP in France like you do in the UK, but I could be wrong.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Buddy1664, most of the doctors speak English, the tourist office should help advise as well.

Docteur Yann Hurry, 0450540855

He is up in Argentiere, he's my GP even though I live down in Les Houches.

Good doc, Great guy and happy to speak very good English. GP + sports injury specialist

The form you need for registering is médecin traitant.

Just remember that the French are colossal hypocondriacs, and that all French medicine is based on suppositories.

Dubaian, on the contrary, they slip in without trouble, but I think the French doctors tend to have alternative means of delivery for a squeamish rosbif wink My son was in hospital in Innsbruck after a nasty ankle fracture and the nurse bought him a painkiller which he was about to swallow "Nein nein, das gehts hinten" she said, with suitable miming. He got the picture.
