Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Never done the Ski Juwel area but thinking of staying in Niederau.

Is covering the full area 'do-able'?

I guess some of the connections are done by bus.

Looking at the piste map Ineralpbach areas look really good .

Anyone stayed at the Harfenwirt hotel?

Just had a thought will goto trip advisor to look at hotel now......

andybabes,
I'm there for the season and have been many times before, I was here for 6 weeks last season. Doing the full area certainly is do-able, you are right you will need a bus to get to Auffach for the link to Alpbach. The bus is free, the timetable is here http://www.schatzbergbahn.at/zoolu-website/media/download/4759/skibusfahrplan_wildschoenau_winter_2012_13 .
Once at Auffach you leave the Gondola station and take the first chairlift once at the top of this you can either take the link gondola to Alpbach or ski down to the middle station then go down the rest of the way in the gondola. There is no piste all of the way down as there is a road and a river to cross to reach Alpbachs gondolas.
I have stayed at the Harfenwirt in the past, it's your normal Austrian ski resort hotel, food is good, Herbert the owner comes across as strange to some but the reality is he has a very dry sense of humour and is good fun. One of the advantages of staying there was the free bus Herbert laid on twice a week to go to the nearby Skiwelt, I can't say for sure that he is doing it this year but he has for about the last 3 years.

andybabes, Yes to all your questions Smile

I stayed at the Harfenwirt last year - tripadvisor review here

It is about 15 minutes on the bus to Auffach, and from there you can ski to the mid station of the gondola down to Alpbach - you have to download the last bit, as they haven't yet built a piste - they said last year they were going to, but it's quite hard to see where it will run.

They also run a free bus from the Harfenwirt on Thursday and Friday to Hopfgarten in the Ski Welt, if you fancy a day out somewhere else (you do have to pay for a day lift pass, unless you have bought the whole Kitzalps pass at the start). I took that on the Thursday last year, and got over to Alpbach on every other day apart from Saturday (Arrival day) when I only skied in Neiderau itself.
