Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Next up in the more elastic tech binding world with perhaps the smallest adjustment to the tech binding design possible:

Anyone fondled one?

look pretty; would only replace my TLT speeds if the claimed forward pressure actually introduces a worthwhile amount of elastic travel without costing too much weight

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

First I've heard of that! Anyone know what the real differences are between the various other '2nd gen' tech bindings (ie real elastic travel)?

clarky999, just going off the pictures and the description that they've added forward pressure I'd hazard that the toe is just a normal tech toe and the heel is mounted on a sliding track to avoid the dreaded toe pop out when the ski bends enough to close the gap you'd normally have with a tech heel. Unlike the Beast/Zenith it doesn't appear to have elasticity in the toe beyond that of a normal tech binding but who knows.

Seems like the latest models of the Dynafit Radical already ship with this elasticity added!

Wildsnow shows you how to determine whether you are buying the new version or not as Dynafit have made this upgrade without changing anything else (name, verdion, graphics) so shops may still be hlding old stock.

Video showing a bit more of the Ion's workings and usage. Looks like a nice alternative to the Radical (especially if the brakes are any more easily changed).

Didn't know that the new Radicals would be getting a similar forward pressure mechanism... I wonder who licensed from who. (linky for those like me who didn't know... http://www.wildsnow.com/11635/dynafit-radical-heel-elasticity-travel-change/)

The 13/14 Radicals already have the forward pressure mechanism. Now anyone fancy a Radical with a pivoting toe wink

geoffers, most notable part of that video is the cut away before landing on all but the smallest drop. All the other skiing is pretty manageable on normal tech bindings. Toofy Grin

Could be the first real contender though if it lives up to that video!
