ive just checked the jetstream forecast and thats it no more snow for at least a month . so what with xmas then new year coming up, the snow will be about as thin as the covering on my head .
its my fault as i booked a cheeky 5 day trip to VALDISERE on the 2nd jan based on the early season snowfall,so apologies to everyone.#
were also out in la Tania 29th march , so were really are ****ed

We were in les Arcs in April 11 when it really was a bad season - but still managed a lot of skiing. Sure there was no deep off-piste powder, but was plenty of good skiing above Arc 2000 and it was possible to ski down to villages every day.
That said while some people have already started comparing this season to 10/11 it does seem somewhat premature to be writing this season off as bad before it even begins!

Fair point, perhaps you should cancel your trips so the snow comes back

phillip33, it is bad news for you. If only you were going out a week later I think you'd be fine as it is almost guaranteed to pelt down snow once this 4 week high pressure cycle ends. You could even end up with lifts closed on your last day or 2 due to blizzards which will set it up fantastic for those coming after you

Not to mention how difficult his travel home will be in the 4 metres of snow which will fall on the journey. how sad.

I head out for a few days in La Tania a week saturday, have to say I am pleased that there is now a bit of a base. Refuse to let myself get dissapointed that it looks unlikely there will be much snow next week

i love la tania , both times last year ( new year and feb half term) we were blessed with snow before and then sunshine all week.
this is a gentle windup.
re wife , i did mention this to her this morning , frosty would be a understatement , no christmass spirit that girl !!!
anyway still no snow on the horizon but plenty of time to go and a good base in place

Tis all my fault. I am a well known snow jinx. In fact I'm amazed that admin let me come to the bash with my ability to repel fresh snow and attract rain
