Hi all,
does anyone have any reccomendations, or 'avoid at all costs' information regarding ski hire in tignes le lac..
so far my googling has indicated:
tignes spirit, good but pricey
skimium, seems ok, handy location
sport 2000 cheapest so far..
whats the experience of fellow snowheads?

We have used Le Vallon Blanc. www.vallon-blanc.com.
Good quality gear but not the cheapest. Also very good for overnight ski servicing. Well placed just off the main square in Le Lac. They have also chipped off a bit of discount for SCGB membership and certain T/O's.

chrikoff, I've always found Guy Clarey on Rue de la Poste (under the Bec Rouge) to be friendly and competent. I believe he is part of Sport 2000. If you book through one of the internet options, you should get a hefty discount on the walk in prices.

precisionski were the cheapest and had a good selection when we rented last year. check them and I will also check my inbox for a discount code that I got from them for this year, since I booked with them last year. Not going to Tignes though this year ... not sure if they do not run the shop also under the other name, but their reservation website gave the best prices. it is close to the new Toviers gondola.
edit: BTW it seems to be the same as skimum. just check their prices. the 10% off that I have in my inbox comes with the code 'UKLOC454'

Fully agree. Quality gear and Jean Charles has knowledge second to none.

The Guys at Tignes Spirit always seem to offer a good service and there choice of kit seems to be little different from the run of the mill stuff, slighlty biased however as these guys are friends of my other half, but they are nice guys too
